World's largest commercial jet Airbus A380 Superjumbo, MSN001, touched dow at Milwaukee Airport at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, for a two-week icing tests.

The A380 crew will test the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engine in airborne icing conditions, which will power the A350-1000, Airbus said via Twitter.

The engine is mounted in the Number 2 station on the A380 wing, meaning the inboard left side from the pilot's perspective in the cockpit.

Airport officials said while there will not be any public tours, it will be flying frequently during its time here giving aviation lovers plenty of chances to see it operate. For a great view of the aircraft while it is parked here, check out the sixth floor of the parkingstructure.

The A350-1000 is being prepared for first flight by the end of this year and perhaps as soon as this month.
